Man in Bryant Park

Bryant Park is a privately managed public park located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues and between 40th and 42nd Streets in Midtown Manhattan. Despite today is one of the most amazing parks in Midtown Manhattan, by the 1970s, Bryant Park had been taken over by drug dealers, prostitutes and the homeless and was considered a no-go area by ordinary citizens and visitors. From 1979 to 1983, a coordinated program of amenities, including book and flower markets, cafes, landscape improvements, and entertainment activities, was initiated by a parks advocacy group called the Parks Council and immediately brought new life to the park.
